CHICKASHA – An art show featuring the work of faculty from another Oklahoma institution will open Sunday at 4 p.m. at the University of Science and Arts.

The public is invited to a reception at the USAO Art Gallery in Davis Hall to meet the artists and learn more about their unique creations.

The show features the work of artists from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. It remains open in Chickasha through March 10. Featured artists include Joe London, June Roys, Jan Bradfield, E.K. Jeong, Anne Lawrence, Ed Helm, Leon Kroeker, Frank Moran and Cyndy Roof.

One unique piece can’t be removed when this show is over, a work actually drawn on a wall surface by E.K. Jeong.

“This kind of art is uniquely Japanese,” says Gallery Director Cecil Lee. “Temporary art – like this piece that will be lost when the gallery is repainted for the next show -- is a common device for Japanese artists, who appreciate the temporal nature of all beautiful things.”

The next show scheduled at the USAO Art Gallery is a student show, featuring the work of seniors who will graduate this spring with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. That show opens at 7 p.m. March 31.
