The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma’s Davis-Waldorf Performing Arts Series continues with the Montana Repertory Theatre’s 50th anniversary production of Barefoot in the Park. The performance will take place Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in Te Ata Memorial Auditorium on the USAO campus.

Barefoot in the Park helped start the career of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Neil Simon more than half a century ago. The comedy explores love, family and relationships through the characters of the newlyweds Corie and Paul Bratter as they learn to live together and face the ups and downs of daily life.

“The mission of the Davis-Waldorf Performing Arts Series is to provide culture, entertainment and an educational experience to the community,” said Katie Davis, associate professor of theatre arts and coordinator of the Davis-Waldorf Performing Arts Series. “We are excited that our students and members of the community will have this opportunity to see an American masterpiece come to life by one of the country’s leading touring ensembles.”

Montana Repertory Theatre was established as a professional touring company in 1967 to provide superior theatrical productions to the western United States. Their mission is to tell great stories that develop and celebrate the human spirit. They take pride in producing plays from the American canon that hold a mirror to humanity’s mutual longings and dreams, defeats and victories.

The Davis-Waldorf Performing Arts Series is an annual concert program aiming to bring culture and entertainment to USAO students and the surrounding community. The series showcases a wide variety of world-class artists across many different creative disciplines, from music and dance to theater and comedy. The Texas Boys Choir will close out the 2016-17 series with a concert featuring many works from the early Renaissance and Baroque periods.

This program is made possible in-part by a grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council.

General admission tickets are $12 for the general public, $10 for seniors (60+) and Alumni Association members, $4 for all students and kids under 18, $7 for USAO staff/faculty and $3 for USAO students. Tickets can be purchased at the USAO Business Office, online at, or by calling (405) 574-1213.
