USAO launches virtual tour on website

Students and parents curious about the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma now have a powerful new tool to get to know the campus in the form of a virtual tour hosted on the university’s website.

The new tour is featured at

The virtual tour is made possible by videos and 360-degree panorama photographs, as well as conventional photography.

Niall Crick, admissions counselor at the university, said that the virtual tour was an important investment for the university as it continues to pursue its mandate to recruit statewide.

“Historically, when we get people to visit the campus, they enroll at a much higher rate,” Crick said. “The virtual tour will encourage families who live further away to explore the campus and discover that we’re definitely worth the drive to visit in person.”

The tour can be viewed without leaving the USAO website and doesn’t require any special software to use.

Viewers have the option to take the complete tour or to skip ahead to specific locations.

Locations featured range from academic buildings, outdoor landscape features, dormitory rooms and student apartments, athletic facilities, student service facilities and the USAO Habitat Area.

The tour also features 30 panorama shots, allowing viewers to view specific areas from all vantage, more than 130 traditional photographs highlighting the campus and student life as well as numerous videos that demonstrate the unique mission and focus of the university.

Visitors can schedule a visit to the campus and apply for admission online from directly within the tour.

The tour was built by YouVisit, which has been featured in newspapers and magazines like the New York Times, Forbes and the Chicago Tribune.

They have created similar tours for some of the most prestigious universities in the United States including Harvard, Yale and Dartmouth College.
