CHICKASHA – The Drovers took a commanding lead Thursday afternoon against the Oklahoma Christian — a lead that the Eagles were unable to match despite rally efforts.

The game was scoreless until the fourth inning when Cody Bridgman singled to centerfield, allowing Conner Bridgman to score. Cody Bridgman scored later in the inning off an RBI by Jake Dunbar.

The following inning, Conner Bridgman hit a triple to right field and scored off an throwing error.

The Bridgman brothers were the stars of the game, each also hitting a home run in the seventh inning and bringing in an additional three runs for the Drovers.

Conner Bridgman scored three runs and had two RBIs in the game, while Cody Bridgman scored two runs with three RBIs.

Also scoring on Thursday were Brandon Jewett, Garan Qualls and Nolan Crowdus.

Pitching for the Drovers was David Garcia, who threw seven innings complete innings before giving up any runs.

The Drovers had an 8-0 lead before giving up five runs in the last two innings of the game. They won with a final of 8-5.

The Drovers are 19-10 overall and 7-7 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. They finish the series against the Eagles with a doubleheader in Edmond beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday. USAO’s next home game will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. against Hillsdale College.
