CHICKASHA – The USAO Drovers are faced with three conference tournament games this week in Texas to compete for a chance to play for the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday.

The teams will play a round-robin style within two separate pools. The champion of each pool will then compete in the championship on Saturday.

The tournament is hosted by both Wayland Baptist and Lubbock Christian universities and games will be played at both sites.

USAO, who enters eighth-seeded, will play in Pool A with top-seeded Oklahoma City, fourth-seeded Rogers State and fifth-seeded Oklahoma Christian.

The Drovers will take on Rogers State at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Plainview. The following day, also at 2 p.m., USAO will take on Oklahoma Christian in Lubbock. Finally, the Drovers will play Oklahoma City at 2 p.m. Friday, again in Plainview.

“It’s exciting just to be get there,” Coach Mike Ross said. “We know what we have to do to get to the national tournament, so we have to get in and make it to the national tournament.”

The SAC Championship will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lubbock Christian.
