CHICKASHA – The Drovers grabbed a third win on Monday afternoon in a sweep over Friends University.

After having beaten Friends 16-3 and 7-4 on Sunday, the Drovers took the game into the bottom of the ninth before securing the win.

The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth when Friends scored their only two runs of the game. The Drovers didn’t counter until the bottom of the fifth with Jared Coon doubled to left field, allowing Robert Summers to score.

USAO’s second run came in the bottom of the seventh when Nolan Crowdus scored on a passed ball.

The final run was another Coon and Summers combo, where Coon once again doubled to left field and Summers scored the game-winning run.

Seth Sturgeon started on the mound for the Drovers, throwing five innings before Josh Goodman came in as relief. But it was closer Blake McMullen who earned the win after pitching the final inning.

The Drovers sweep the series against the Falcons and advance to 5-2 overall. They play their next home game on Saturday against Bethany College. The doubleheader is set to begin at noon, with the third game in the series at noon Sunday.
