A combined six Drover home runs led to two wins against Mount Mercy College on Friday afternoon.

The Drovers knocked out a quick win early, with the first game being called after just five innings and a Drover lead of 10-0.

First baseman Luke Krobath had a strong first game as he hit a home run and a double in his three times up to bat. He had three RBIs and six put outs in the Drover victory.

Cody Bridgman hit a home run, scored a run and had two RBIs for USAO.

Pitcher Nate Hammons allowed six hits and walked only one batter during his five innings on the mound. He had four strikeouts.

David Masters, who is new to USAO this season, hit for the cycle — in addition to his four RBIs and six put outs — to help the Drovers to their 14-8 win.

Masters wasn’t the only one with a strong second game, however, as Newt Compton, Conner Bridgman and Luke Krobath each hit a home run as well.

Greg Ylda hit a triple and scored a run, and Regulo Moy hit a double, scored a run and had two RBIs for the Drovers.

Pitcher Alfonso Cardenas came in during the fourth inning. In his 3.2 innings, he allowed only two hits and struck out five batters.

The Drovers will take on Peru State at 1 p.m. Sunday at Bill Smith Ballpark before heading to Texas for the team’s conference opener against Lubbock Christian next weekend.
