CHICKASHA – USAO split against Northwestern Oklahoma State in the Drovers last home doubleheader of the season.

Junior Caleb Martin didn’t allow a single earned run in the first game to lead the Drovers to a 4-3 win in the first game. He threw a complete game, including six strikeouts and only four hits.

Junior Cody Bridgman hit his eighth home run of the season, bringing in both Newt Compton and himself.

Sklyer Foster and Jake Dunbar each scored a run in the sixth to bring USAO to its first lead of the game. Andrew Reyes and Robert Summers had the RBIs.

In the second game, the Drovers had another slow start, not scoring a run until the fifth inning when senior Josh Moore scored a run off a double by Greg Ylda.

Senior Beau Bentley made an appearance in the game as a pinch hitter and batted Vince Linke in on his hit in the sixth.

The Drovers were down by two in the bottom of the seventh when Moore hit a home run. Moore went three-for-three in the second game. Unfortunately, a double play ended the season for USAO. The Drovers lost 3-4.

Senior Nate Hammons gave up only three earned runs and threw three strikeouts in his time on the mound.

The Drovers end their season 28-20 overall and 13-17 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
