CHICKASHA – When the Iowa Wesleyan came into town Monday afternoon, the Drovers couldn’t quite keep up with the tough Tigers.
The Drovers gave up the first couple of runs in the first inning off a two-RBI homer. They weren’t able to deliver a run of their own until late in the third when Brandon Jewett doubled to center field, bringing in Andrew Reyes.
USAO was down 5-1 in the bottom of the fifth. That’s when Romus Cezar, who leads off for the Drovers, scored on a wild pitch by IWC’s Derek Zander.
Jewett, who went 3-for-3 on the afternoon, hit his second double of the game in the seventh. The hit scored both Reyes and Jake Dunbar, who’d both been walked.
USAO fell 10-4 to the Tigers. The Drovers are 12-6 overall and still 3-3 in conference play.
They take on conference opponent Southern Nazarene on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Bill Smith Ballpark and Friday afternoon at SNU for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
