It may be the beginning of February, but Drover baseball season is already underway.

Head Coach Mike Ross took over as coach this season, after shadowing legend L.J. Powell as assistant coach for the Drovers for the last four years.

“L.J. was great to me. He gave me my first start into coaching,” Ross said. “I owe a lot to him.”

Ross has some high hopes for USAO at the beginning of the season because of a lot of returning starters and few good recruits. He said the team should fare well, despite playing in a tough conference.

“We’ve got a good, solid group,” he said. “We should be alright.”
