CHICKASHA– An impressive offensive showing from senior Ryan Wescott is what led to him being chosen as the Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of April 21-27.

In the week’s three games, which the Drovers went a perfect 3-0 against Southwestern Christian, Wescott had a batting average of .643 (9-for-14) with two home runs and 10 RBIs on the weekend.

Five of those runs batted in came in one game when he used two timely hits, including a three run homer in the first inning of the second game of the doubleheader.

Wescott also crossed home plate nine times, had four doubles and a triple and stole three bases to round out the offensive category for the Drovers.

On the season, he has a .348 batting average and has hit three home runs. He has batted in a total of 34 runs and scored 43 times to help the Drovers to a 25-win season and a SAC tournament berth.

The Drovers now will look to make some noise starting on Friday in the SAC tournament.

Wescott is a physical education senior from Glendale, Ariz., and is the son of Steve and Deborah Wescott.
