CHICKASHA – A physical game went in favor of the home team, Texas Wesleyan, as the Drovers fall short in their Monday night comeback.
The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (5-8, 2-4) were unable to overcome the Rams (9-6, 3-3) in a game that saw 22 combined fouls in the first half alone. The Drovers fell 80-71 in the Sooner Athletic Conference match up.
In the game, Jahseth Lloyd shot 90 percent from the field and led the team with 22 points to keep up his 20-plus streak alive for the fourth game in the last five of the season.
Two other Drovers exited the game with double figures in scoring. Senior Shavon Scott had 17 points and Tyler Reynolds grabbed 14 on the evening, along with the points all three players – Lloyd, Scott and Reynolds -- were the top rebounders for the Drovers.
Lloyd had eight rebounds while Scott grabbed five and Reynolds notched six. Senior Kennis White was also a leader in the rebound department grabbing six as well.
USAO will return to Chickasha for another Sooner Athletic Conference game against Wayland Baptist on Saturday afternoon. The game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. tip-off at USAO Fieldhouse.
The game will be Teacher Appreciation Day, where all teachers and educators will enjoy free admission. USAO Student Activities Board will be hosting halftime contests and giveaways throughout the game.
