Both Drover basketball teams felt the disappointment of a loss after their battles against Lubbock Christian University on Saturday afternoon in Chickasha.
Freshman Phillip Harris had one of his best games, hitting half his field goal and three point attempts and becoming the team’s highest scorer with 18 points. In addition to his points, he had five assists.
Anthony Turner had the most rebounds with eight and also had 12 points and two assists.
The Drovers shot a 31.7 percent and had 13 turnovers. They lost with a final score of 69-56. They fall to 4-10 overall and 2-7 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
The Lady Drovers also competed against Lubbock Christian University on Saturday afternoon, losing the game 63-54.
Charitie Lewis stayed consistent, earning 23 points, six rebounds and one assist for the Drovers. Aita Gueye had the team’s most rebounds with seven.
It was the fouls that hurt the Lady Drovers on Saturday. They had 22 personal fouls, compared to the Lady Chaps’ 14, and LCU made more than three-quarters of their free throws.
The women fall to an overall record of 3-14 and to 1-8 in the conference.
The Drovers won’t play at home again until Jan. 28 against Mid-America Christian University. They take on John Brown University on Thursday in Arkansas.
