CHICKASHA– The Drovers went into the exhibition match looking for a win against the University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos on Monday evening. Even with the valiant effort given during the whole game, USAO drops the match 75-76.
With it being a regular season game for UCO, the Drovers (1-4) held the lead for the majority of the game before the Bronchos grabbed the lead for good at the 6:21 mark in second half.
The Drovers had four members in double figures with Donnie Brown leading the way with 17 points and two rebounds. The second Drover in double figures was Kennis White who had 15 points and a team leading seven rebounds.
David Tucker, Jr. had 15 points as well with two assists on the game, and Tyler Reynolds paced the reserves with 12 points and a team leading four assists.
USAO’s largest lead in the game came at the 17:39 mark in the second half when the Drovers grew the lead to nine after having a five point lead at the halfway mark.
The regular season will continue for USAO on the road this weekend in the Saint Gregory’s Classic on Friday and Saturday with two games scheduled.
The first game will be against McPherson College at 6 p.m. on Friday evening, and Saturday’s game will be against No.24 Our Lady of the Lake, with a 2 p.m. tip-off.
The Drovers will then return home to open Sooner Athletic Conference play at 8 p.m. on Dec.5 against No.2 Oklahoma Baptist.
USAO will broadcast the conference opener on USAO's athletic website. It will be Student Appreciation night, with students receiving free admission. Chickasha High School POM will also be performing at halftime of the men’s basketball game.
