The Drovers came back from a 20-point deficit to pull the game within one with two minutes left but were unable to pull off a win Monday night.

Rogers State University defeated the USAO men’s basketball team 82-74. The women also fell to the Hillcats, with a final score of 57-50.

Most of USAO’s points came from Thomas Peters and Fred Savoie. Peters had 30 points and four assist for the Drovers. He made a total of 10 field goals, including four three-pointers. He was also six for six from the line.

Savoie shot 80 percent Monday night with 20 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Anthony Turner had 19 rebounds during the game.

The Lady Drovers also kept it close against RSU, going into half down by two.

Krista Beaty had 19 points, six rebounds and three assists for the Drovers. Charitie Lewis followed with 13 points, six rebounds and one assist Monday night.

The Lady Drovers shot 35.1 percent and recovered 32 rebounds.

Both USAO basketball teams will take on Oklahoma City University at home on Thursday night. The women will tip off at 6 p.m., and the men will follow at 8 p.m.
