CHICKASHA – After collecting 50 points and 27 rebounds in two games, USAO senior Jahseth Lloyd earned Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for the week of Feb. 3-9.
With back-to-back double-doubles last week, Lloyd helped lead the Drovers to a home win over No. 4 Southwestern Assemblies of God followed by a road win against Northwood University.
On the week, the 6-foot-7 forward shot nearly 74 percent from the field.
At Northwood, Lloyd set a career-high 30 points and a career-high 15 rebounds in his two years at USAO. He also had six blocks in the game to help the Drovers secure an 86-81 victory.
Just days before, Lloyd scored 20 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had two blocks on 6-for-7 shooting from the field on the way to an 88-80 win over a Top 5 team.
Starting the season this semester, Lloyd leads the team in points per game (22.3), total rebounds (109) and blocks (24). He’s also responsible for 16 steals and 10 assists.
Additionally, he has the highest shooting percentage on the team at 62.4 percent.
Lloyd is a physical education senior from Brooklyn, N.Y. He is the son of Cynthia Vaughn.
