CHICKASHA – Facing No. 3 Oklahoma Baptist, the Drovers fought a tough battle to overcome the high-powered Bison. It was trouble rebounding on the part of the Drovers that gave OBU the edge.
Senior Kyle Hunt had his 12th double-double of the season with 25 points and 10 rebounds in the game.
The Drovers’ other big play maker Saturday evening was Phil Harris, who scored 17 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had four assists in the contest.
The Bison grabbed a whopping 51 rebounds to USAO’s 30.
It was USAO’s second ever Pink Out Cancer game and the Drover women wore pink jerseys for the first time. The university’s chapter of Colleges Against Cancer raised money for cancer awareness and research.
The Drovers are 13-10 overall and 9-9 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Sitting at sixth in the conference, they continue to fight for a spot in the SAC Tournament.
USAO travels to Oklahoma Christian on Thursday before returning home for Homecoming on Feb. 18. Games will be at 3 and 5 p.m. at the USAO Fieldhouse. Alumni of the university get in free with an Alumni Association card. Those without a card can email firstname.lastname@example.org for a pass.
