CHICKASHA – The University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma used their offensive power to make a perfect weekend at the Saint Gregory’s Turkey Classic.

The Drovers (3-4) go into Sooner Athletic Conference play after an 89-84 win against No. 24 Our Lady of the Lake on Saturday afternoon in Shawnee.

USAO went into halftime with a 55-39 lead, but Our Lady of the Lake made the game interesting by taking it down to the wire. Six USAO players went in double figures in the point value with senior Shavon Scott leading the way with 20 points and Kennis White securing his second straight double-double.

Scott proved to be an all-around player shooting a perfect 7-for-7 from the field Saturday and adding seven rebounds, four assists and two steals for the Drovers.

White, who had a double-double on Friday evening in an USAO win over McPherson College, had 14 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday’s game. He also had two assists and a steal.

Tyler Reynolds and Ahmir Bailey, both of whom came off the bench Saturday, scored 16 points each. Bailey also grabbed seven rebounds while Reynolds contributed a team-high four assists.

Donnie Brown and David Tucker, Jr., each added 10 points to USAO’s total on Saturday.

USAO shot an impressive 60 percent in the first half, including sinking the first five three-pointers, which helped build a 19 point lead with 2:26 left in the first half. USAO ended up with a 53 percent shooting day, a season best.

After an exhibition match at Midwestern State on Tuesday, the Drovers will return home for the Sooner Athletic Conference opener at 8 p.m. on Thursday against No. 3 Oklahoma Baptist.

The game will be Student Appreciation Day, and all local and area high school students will enjoy free admission. Chickasha High School Pom will be performing during halftime as well.

USAO will broadcast the SAC opener in high-definition for free at USAO's athletic website, which includes the 6 p.m. tip off of USAO women’s basketball game against No. 23 OBU. Coverage begins at 5:55 p.m.
