CHICKASHA – The Drovers came out on top of the Texas Wesleyan Rams with a 94-82 final in Tuesday night’s Senior Night at Brisco McPherson Court.
The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (13-13, 10-9) fell behind the Rams (15-14, 8-11) early, taking the lead a few times in the first half but never securing it for long. At halftime, USAO trailed 48-43.
But once the Drovers took control six minutes into the second half, they held onto it tightly, extending the lead to as much as 14 before the final buzzer.
All of five starting Drovers, all of whom are seniors, scored in double figures. It is the second game in a row that USAO’s five starters notched double digits in scoring.
Shavon Scott neared his season-high with 26 points, six rebounds and three steals, leading the Drovers in each of those categories.
Jahseth Lloyd added another 22 to points to the Drovers total on 9-for-16 shooting from the field.
Donnie Brown scored 14 points while Tyler Reynolds had 11 points. Both players had three assists on the night.
Kennis White bucketed 10 points and five rebounds against Texas Wesleyan on Tuesday.
The Drovers shot nearly 46 percent on the night.
It was Senior Night at the USAO Fieldhouse, and the Drovers honored its six seniors: Donnie Brown, Tyler Reynolds, Chris Ryan, Kennis White, Shavon Scott and Jahseth Lloyd.
The Drovers head to Wayland Baptist to finish off the regular season on Thursday night.
Following the regular season, the Drovers will compete in the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament March 5-8 in Shawnee.
