CHICKASHA – Even though the Drover men were only three strong, they each had a great meet personally on Saturday afternoon at the NAIA Mid-States Classic in Winfield, Kan., setting career and season records.

Since only three runners competed for USAO, they did not qualify for a team score.

Matthew Crow, who ran in 2012-13 but joined the Drovers this year mid-season, set a career best by finishing the 8-kilometer race in 30:28.31. That time was nearly a minute faster than his personal best set last season and is good for third place in school history for fastest 8K.

Freshman Elias Poolaw came in seconds after Crow, also setting a season best. He finished with a time of 30:30.46, which is fourth in school history and seconds faster than his race earlier this month.

Jeffrey Poolaw, a sophomore from Anadarko, had his best race of the season, finishing in 32:18.03.

It was the Drovers last race before the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship meet on Nov. 9 at Oklahoma Baptist.
