The 14-4 Drover men will head the 12 hours to Brownsville, Texas, to take on the University of Texas at Brownsville Scorpions for the first round of the National Tournament on Saturday.

Even though the Drovers didn't win the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament, the team received an at-large bid to the NAIA National Tournament on Sunday evening.

"We knew we had a good RPI, but we needed things to fall into place yesterday elsewhere across the country," Coach Jimmy Hampton said Sunday night. "Apparently things did, and the men will begin preparing tomorrow."

The Scorpions won the Red River Athletic Conference tournament and are ranked No. 21 in the final NAIA Top 25 rankings. USAO is not ranked. Oklahoma Baptist also received a bid to the tournament.

If the Drovers win Saturday, they will move on to the second round in Orange Beach, Ala., beginning Nov. 29.
