CHICKASHA – The Drovers started conference play with a bang, crushing the Saint Gregory’s Cavaliers 6-0 on Thursday afternoon at Drover Pitch.

Just 14 minutes into the game, USAO’s Kalokwera Okot scored his second goal of the season off an assist by Nicolas Alberto.

Less than 10 minutes later, Jean Gnapi found Perry Sansford to give the Drovers a 2-0 lead. Minutes later — and then minutes apart — Stephen Owusu scored two more goals for the Drovers. The first was unassisted and the second was off an assist by Niall Burley.

The Drovers went into halftime up 4-0.

The second half saw the Drovers dominating once again. Not long into the second half, Gnapi and Alberto each made goals. Gnapi’s was unassisted while Sansford earned the assist for Alberto’s goal.

The Drovers outshot the Cavs 26-2 for the game. Sophomore keeper Bryan Byars had two saves as both the Cavs’ shots were on goal.

The shutout marks six in a row for the Drovers, who are 6-0-2 overall and now 1-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

The Drovers will take on Friends University at 2 p.m. Friday at Drover Pitch before continuing conference action at home against Rogers State at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
