After two more decisive wins, the 4-0 Drover men are No. 10 in the country — one of the highest rankings for the soccer program in school history.

“I’m very happy for the players to be recognized for their hard work,” Coach Jimmy Hampton said. “We will continue to strive to get better and grow as a team.”

The men played two weekend games, beating the Brescia Bearcats 3-1 and Saint Thomas Celts 8-2.

Nicolas Alberto, a freshman from Paris, has delivered four goals this season for USAO. Nikola Cakarevic and Niall Crick have each scored three as well. Last year’s leading scorer David Otieno has had two goals and four assists this season.

Goalkeeper Ryan Mcentee has played the entire 360 minutes of the season so far, allowing only three goals against the Drovers.

The Drover men head off to Bethel College in Kansas to play next week, before returning home to face Tabor College at 4 p.m. Sept. 24.

USAO is the only SAC school in the Top 25 rankings, and the men remain at the top of the conference.

The women continue to nip at the heels of the Top 25, sitting firmly in the top 30. They are ranked second in the conference, according to the NAIA. The team faces two Division II teams this weekend in Edmond.
