CHICKASHA – Despite a slow start on Friday afternoon, the Drover men found their stride to defeat the Brescia University Bearcats 3-1.

USAO spent the first half failing to connect and the game remained a defensive battle until David Otieno found the goal on a penalty kick with less than three minutes left in the half.

Shortly after halftime, Brescia’s Eurodger Bargblor tied the score on one of the team’s first shots of the game.

At the 67-minute mark, Gavin Ochieng found Niall Crick, who netted the Drovers’ second goal. With the Drovers in control of the game, Nicolas Alberto added icing to the cake with a third goal for USAO off a rebound from a shot by Crick.

While the Drovers’ offensive struggled in the first half, the defense kept the Drover goal clear. USAO outshot the Bearcats 34 to two.

The men are now 3-0 overall. They play again at 4 p.m. Saturday at Drover Pitch in Chickasha.
