CHICKASHA – Perry Sansford came into the game looking for goal no. 1 of the season, and ended up getting the Drovers first hat trick of the season in a 7-0 shutout of Friends University on Tuesday night.

The Drovers, came out swinging and lit up the scoreboard against the Falcons, earning their second clean sheet.

Drovers (2-2) totaled 24 shots, while the defense held their own, only allowing six shots the entire game.

The game looked like a back and forth battle for the majority of the first half, but the last six minutes gave the Drovers a 4-0 lead going into half.

The first goal of the game came from Liam Madden off an assist from Nicolas Alberto in minute 39. Alberto would answer with his own goal a minute later, with an assist from Madden, to bring the score 2-0.

Thirty seconds later, the Drovers scored their third goal off a kick from Sansford, his first on the day. After a few minutes of back and forth, Scott Parkinson scored a goal to bring it to 4-0 at the half.

The second half started with Sanford’s two other goals to bring the Drovers to a 6-0 lead. Kyle Maxwell, 12 minutes later, hit the seventh and final goal of the evening.

The Drovers also had assists from Niall Burley and Alwin Komolong.

The Drovers look to add to the win total as they come back home against McPherson College. The game is set at 2 p.m. on Sept. 14 at Drover Pitch.

The game will also be a part of a back to back with Bethel University on Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. at Drover Pitch. Tourbeau group will broadcast the game against Bethel for the game of the week on their site.
