CHICKASHA – Entering his final season with the Drovers, senior mid-fielder Niall Crick just has one thought.

“We only have one goal really, the returning players, and that’s to get back to the national tournament,” he said. “It was such a fantastic experience last year — Everything about it, not just the games but being down there being a part of the whole thing. That’s probably the best thing I’ve ever done as a football player.”

But this early in the season, Crick said it will be weeks before they know whether that will be something the team could to accomplish.

“It’s difficult to tell early on. We’ve only had a week of practice and we have a lot of new boys,” Crick said. “How it’s shaping up compared to the last two years? I don’t think we’ll know until conference actually starts and the games start to matter a bit more.”

As well as working hard for the Drover soccer team and maintaining his GPA, Crick serves as the online editor for USAO’s student newspaper, The Trend. When Crick graduates in April, the Scotland native said he hopes to stay in the United States for at least a year until his visa expires.

“I’m definitely going to test the waters with that and stay over here and see what kind of jobs I can find and take it from there,” he said.
