CHICKASHA – For the third year in a row, the Drovers are bound for the National Tournament after a big win over Lubbock Christian in the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship game on Thursday.

The Drovers earn the tournament win after clinching the regular season SAC title nearly three weeks ago.

“I’m so proud of the boys,“ Coach Jimmy Hampton said. “Pulling the double is impressive for them and well deserved. We look forward to fighting hard in the round of 32.”

Seeding and opponents for the National Tournament opening round will be announced Sunday.

Facing the Chaps at home for the second time this season, the Drovers were ready for a battle.

Just nine minutes into the game, Perry Sansford grabbed USAO’s first goal, having pulled LCU keeper Hunter Ganze out of the goal.

A few minutes later, Dusan Rasovic scored a second goal. Niall Crick had the assist on both plays.

The Drovers went into halftime up 2-0, but they weren’t done. Crick scored a third goal unassisted before, less than 10 minutes later, Nicolas Alberto added the last blow off an assist by Chris Lee.

The win propels the Drovers to 16-4 overall.

2011 marks USAO’s seventh conference title since the program began in 1998.

The Drovers will move on to compete in the opening round of the NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship on Nov. 19.
