CHICKASHA – Giving up just one hit in two shutouts, senior Liz Agpalo was named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week.
Agpalo pitched two complete games this week, earning a career first no-hitter against Benedictine College. She threw seven strikeouts in that game and was a hit batsman away from a perfect game. The Drovers went on to win that game 8-0 in five innings.
A few days later, Agpalo pitched game two against Northwestern Oklahoma State and threw eight strikeouts in the seven-inning shutout. She gave up just one hit in that game. The Drovers won it 1-0.
In addition to strong pitching this week, Agpalo served as the designated player in the games she didn’t pitch. Against Benedictine in a 10-0 Drover win, Agpalo went 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBIs.
This season, Agpalo has thrown 37 strikeouts and has a season ERA of 2.66. At the plate, she has hit four home runs and has a total of 16 runs and 15 RBIs.
Agpalo is a biology and natural science senior from Carrollton, Texas. She joined the Drovers last season from Northern Oklahoma College. She is the daughter of Kevin and Debbie Agpalo.
