SHAWNEE – After each set a new record for single-season home runs and finished with a batting average over .350 seniors Leslie Beaty and Caitlyn Crotty headed up a list of four USAO player that were selected to the all-conference teams this week.

Including the academic all-conference selections, USAO landed 10 players on the lists after winning eight of the last 12 games.

Beaty, from Washington, was one of 18 first team selections after posting a school-record .452 batting average with 14 doubles, 45 RBIs and a school-record nine home runs. The shortstop finishes her three-year Drover career as the school’s all-time home run leader with 20. She ranks second all-time in career hits, runs scored, doubles and RBIs.

Crotty, from Norman, hit .387 as a senior with 11 doubles, 37 RBIs and nine home runs. She was also named this year’s Bill and Pat Smith Scholar-Athlete.

Senior outfielder Laurissa Eliason earned all-conference honorable mention after posting a .368 batting average as the leadoff with eight doubles and two triples. Senior catcher Amy Tice was named to the Gold Glove Team. After battling an injury most of the season, she returned to post a .308 batting average with five doubles and a home run.

Sarah Jamison, Kim Alford, Kristi Stout, Michelle Bauer, Hillary Brown, Christina Wilson and Crotty were all named to Academic All-Conference.

The Drovers finished the season 23-24 overall with the second-best team batting average in school history (.310). The 2009 team also ranks first with 31 home runs, fourth in runs scored, fifth in doubles and RBIs.
