The Drovers got their second home win on Thursday afternoon in a split day against the Oklahoma Baptist Lady Bison.

Michelle Bauer, of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, pitched a complete first game against OBU. She threw eight strikeouts and gave up no earned runs. Bauer, a senior, went two for three and also scored a run in the first game, helping the Drovers to a 4-1 victory.

Senior Hillary Brown, of Collinsville, scored a run and batted three runners in off the double she hit early in the first game.

Junior Samantha Fowler and Sophomore Jenna Findley also each scored a run for USAO.

The Drovers were not able to keep the Bison at bay in the second game, however, and fell 4-2.

Ashlyn Kimberly started out in the circle, but it was Chancie Godwin who kept batters off the bases. Godwin allowed only two hits and threw two strikeouts in her more than four innings pitching. She did not allow any runs.

Catcher Laurean Dennis, of Duncan, batted 1.000 on Thursday. She scored a run off an RBI by Whitney Bellamy, who came in deep in the seventh as a pinch hitter. Bellamy, of Andarko, scored the Drovers second run.

The Drovers are now 11-23 overall and 2-16 in conference play. They play No. 7 Saint Gregory’s at 2 p.m. Tuesday at home in another conference doubleheader.
