CHICKASHA – The Drovers continued their Sooner Athletic Conference success with two more conference wins on Tuesday afternoon against Northwestern Oklahoma State.
USAO started off the first game giving up two runs in the first inning, but the Drovers then responded well, earning three themselves.
Shortly after Skyler Nichols stole home, Liz Agpalo helped bring the score to 3-2 when she doubled up the middle, allowing Ally Richardson and Ashley Mitchell to score.
The Drovers got their fourth run in the bottom of the third inning when Richardson scored her second run, this time off an RBI by catcher Markie LaFerney.
But the Drovers gave up another two runs in the next two innings, tying the game. In the bottom of the final inning, Richardson doubled to left field and brought Nichols home for the 5-4 win.
Agpalo pitched the complete game and threw six strikeouts. She allowed just one earned run.
Game two was all about the Drovers, who scored eight runs in six innings and ended the game 8-1 before the bottom of the seventh.
