The Lady Drovers split on Wednesday in USAO’s home opener against Rogers State.

The Drovers started off slow in the first game and struggled through the first six innings before scoring a run. The Drovers fell to the Hillcats 8-3.

Catcher Amanda Cave hit two of three with a run and an RBI. Both Rosy Campos and Hillary Brown hit one of three with a run each.

Ashlyn Kimberly pitched a complete game with three strikeouts. Kimberly also came in for the save in the last inning of the second game.

The Drovers won the second game 10-9. Pitcher Felicia Gourley was given the win after pitching nearly six innings.

Third baseman Jenna Findley batted 1.000, hitting a double, having three RBIs and scoring one run for USAO.

Whitney Bellamy went three for four with two runs, while Michelle Bauer and Samantha Fowler hit two of three with two runs each.

The Drovers to go 9-11 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

The team heads to the Evangel Tournament this weekend. They play at home next against (3) Oklahoma City on March 23.
