CHICKASHA – With 30 wins in the regular season and a Sooner Athletic Conference tournament bid for the Drover softball team, Coach Jenn White is pleased with her second season at USAO.

White organized a strong line up comprised of mostly freshmen and seniors.

“It’s hard to talk about just one (player) because I think with our team everybody contributes, and that really helps us,” she said. “We have a great combination, to be completely honest. I think some of them stand out because of the help from some of the others.”

One point where White said she is especially pleased is with the pitching staff.

“I think that’s the thing especially in this conference and this league that if you have good pitching you will go far,” she said. “They’ve kept us in a lot of ball games, and I couldn’t ask for anything more from them.”

Facing the conference tournament next week, White said she plans to practice just like they have been all season.

“I think basically keeping them relaxed and working on the little things,” she said. “We’re pretty laid back. We have a great time. We love playing the game, and I’m going to keep it in that kind of mode. We’re going to go out and play hard.”
