CHICKASHA – After working hard all fall, the Drover women have played strong this season, sitting in the middle of the conference standings.
Senior outfielder Sammy Fowler said practices picked up when the spring semester started.
“In the fall, you have a lot more time to relax, although we work really hard, we get more weekends off,” she said. “But in the season, we usually practice on the weekends and work really hard to be successful.”
Fowler joined the Drovers in 2009 after two seasons at Neosho County Community College in Kansas. She said she decided to attend a community college first as a way of improving her skill set.
“I just wanted to go where I could build up my skill level and get some games in and improve myself,” she said.
