CHICKASHA– Beginning the home schedule with a sweep earlier in the year against Langton University, the Drovers (20-12) picked up on their success against the Lions with another sweep.
The first game of the away doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon went in the Drovers’ favor they took the 9-3 victory. The second game was an 11-2 win to bring the Drovers winning streak to four.
In the first game, the team as a whole grabbed 10 hits, with Dani Warren and McKenna Eubank grabbing two hits each and batted in three runs together for the offensive output.
Kaylin Taylor also batted in two runs with her RBI triple to help the Drovers to a win in the first game.
The winning pitcher for game one was Tate Landmark, who is now 8-4 on the season after pitching the complete game and striking out eight batters. Landmark allowed three runs on six hits and only threw one walk in the game.
The second game was an offensive outpouring for the Drovers as they grabbed 11 runs on 10 hits. The big bat of the game went to shortstop Taylor Smith, who went a perfect 4-for-4 and drove in four runs on the game.
Warren also joined the runs batted in parade with three coming in off her RBI triple to help the Drovers grab game two against the Lions. The triple from Warren was her second on the year.
Other big bats for the Drovers in game two were Taylor, who went 2-for-2 and crossed home plate three times, Landmark, who drove two runs in on the game. Sara Reeves and Eubank were responsible for the other RBIs.
Jaci Booker (8-4) was the winning pitcher throwing a complete game while giving up to runs only one of which was earned and striking out three batters.
The Drovers will return home for a conference series against No. 13 Saint Gregory’s on Thursday afternoon. The doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. at Bill Smith Ballpark with the Drovers looking to keep up the winning streak.
