USAO Fight Song

Here come our USAO Drover teams,
And when they play tonight the crowd will scream.
For our Drover Guys we love so well,
And for our Drover Gals we’ll yell and yell and yell!
We’re going to show what we’re all about.
We’ve got the spirit and you’ll hear us shout…
We love our Drovers and our coaches too (yes we do)!

Drover Dancers

Gracing the sidelines and promoting Drover support for the last three years have been USAO’s own Drover Dancers, a squad that developed out of the former cheerleading team.

Much like in the past, the Drover Dancers will perform during halftimes and create a presence on the sidelines. This year, the Dancers also will have dances corresponding with some of the basketball game themes.

Led by Emily Godwin, formerly Emily Hector, the Dancers have been fine-tuning their performances since finalizing the squad after tryouts in early September.

In addition to coaching the Dancers, Hector is an adjunct professor at USAO and owner and teacher of Love to Dance Studio.

USAO Pep Band

The Drover Pep Band will be around again this season, offering fan favorites and a variety of popular music. The band will continue to perfect their traditional repertoire of the USAO Fight Song and Star Spangled Banner as well.

Completing the pep band is a couple of guitars, a drum set, a couple of trumpets, a trombone and yes, even a cowbell. Not to mention USAO's own Dr. Dan Hanson, who will be joining the band to play bass.

Hanson describes the band's music as a riff motif similar to what you'd se on the David Letterman show.

While the band is small in size, the students participating are dedicated to making the pep band a tradition at USAO basketball games.
