CHICKASHA – The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma had sophomore Sami Martin grab a career-high 24 points in a Monday night contest but ultimately, the Drovers came up short against new conference foe Texas Wesleyan.

The Drovers (3-6, 2-4) fell to the Lady Rams with a final score of 98-63 on the road.

Martin grabbed her point total on 60 percent shooting from the field, including 5-for-9 beyond the arc. She also led the team with six rebounds and had three assists in the game to come in second on the team.

Senior Rashelle Carr ended with 11 points and contributed four rebounds to the game, while Brooke Worcester had nine points, all coming from a 3-for-4 shooting beyond the arc.

Paige Pulliam dished seven assists, leading the team in the important category.

USAO will return to the friendly confines of USAO Fieldhouse, where they are 2-0 on the season, when they take on conference rival Wayland Baptist at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The game will be Teacher Appreciation Day, where all teachers and educators will enjoy free admission. USAO Student Activities Board will be hosting halftime contests and giveaways throughout the game.
