CHICKASHA– The Drovers despite having five players scoring in double digits ended with an 80-62 loss at the hands of Langston University on Saturday evening.
The University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma (1-2 was led by true freshman Kylie Parker, who had 15 points and on the strength of 4-for-14 shooting. Three of those shots came from behind the three-point line.
The second Drover in double figures was senior Paige Pulliam, who grabbed 13 points nine of which came from the charity stripe. She ended up 9-for-11 at the free throw line for the best percentage of the team. She also grabbed the team lead with four assists on the game.
True freshman Jordan Cooper led the team in rebounds and grabbed her first double-double of the season. Cooper netted 12 points and 11 rebounds on the game.
Rashelle Carr and Sami Martin each had 10 points for USAO. Carr was four rebounds away from grabbing her second double-double in a row with six boards on the game.
After a long road trip to start the season, the Drovers will make their first home appearance of the 2013-14 season. It also doubles as the Sooner Athletic Conference opener against No. 23 Oklahoma Baptist with tip off at 6 p.m. on Dec. 5.
USAO will be broadcasting the game live on USAO's athletic website, and it will be Student Appreciation Night for USAO. Students from USAO or elsewhere will get in free and Chickasha HS Pom will be performing during the halftime of the men’s game at 8 p.m.
