CHICKASHA – The Drover women battled a hard 40 minutes against No. 4 Oklahoma Baptist before ultimately falling with a final score of 78-60 on Monday night.
The Lady Bison (21-3, 13-1) netted 17 offensive rebounds to help lead them to the win over the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (4-13, 3-11).
The Drovers kept the game close for the first five minutes, but once the Bison women got a hold of the lead, they didn’t relent.
In the game, Rashelle Carr has 16 points, scoring 12 of those on four long-range shots.
Amber Chaney and Brittany Elkins each scored 13 points. Chaney had seven rebounds, tying teammate Sami Martin in boards, while Elkins helped with six rebounds and four steals. Martin had a team-leading four assists.
The Drovers shot 35 percent from the field in the game.
The match-up originally was scheduled for December but the game was snowed out in one of Chickasha’s early season bouts of winter weather.
The Drovers travel to Saint Gregory’s on Thursday night before returning home to battle No. 16 John Brown on Saturday. Tip off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
