CHICKASHA – Two Drover women set their own person records for five-kilometers in a Saturday race in Winfield, Kan.
Competing at Southwestern College, both senior Beatriz Rey and freshman Deborah Park recorded their best times to date.
Rey finished in 21:07.04, just seconds before her previously held record, while Park cut nearly a minute off of her time, finishing in 21:38.66. They were USAO’s second and third runners to cross the finish line respectively.
Finishing first for the Drovers was Brittni Kent, who ran the course in 21:01.54.
Junior Katie Jones came along fourth, with a time of 25:14.19.
Due to injury, Brittney DeWitt and Tabby Bailey didn’t race. With only four runners competing, the Drovers didn’t qualify for team placement.
It was the Drovers final regular season meet of the year. They are expected to run, however, in the conference race on Nov. 3 at Oklahoma Baptist.
