CHICKASHA – Linda Addo scored her second hat trick of the season on the way to a USAO win over Mid-America Christian on Tuesday afternoon at Drover Pitch.
Addo had her hand in all four goals for the Drovers in the game. After being part of a double assist to Megan Wilkerson in the team’s first goal, Addo went on to score three in a row in the second half. Vanessa Yates is credited with the other assist in the first goal.
Just five minutes into the second half, Addo scored off a corner kick by senior Taylor Fain. She then scored just minutes later off an assist by Kelli Korleski.
Addo topped the game off with an unassisted goal at the 69-minute mark to give the Drovers a 4-0 lead.
The Evangels were able to score one themselves before the game ended with a 4-1 final.
Freshman goalkeeper Brooke Worcester had five saves in the game and earned her eighth win of the season.
After starting off the season rough, the Drovers have won eight of their last nine games. They advance to 8-5 overall and 3-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
It was the second ever USAO soccer Pink Out Cancer game, and the Drovers donned pink uniforms for the game. Drovers Against Cancer sponsored the game, selling concessions and recognizing cancer survivors at halftime.
The Drovers travel to take on No. 8 Oklahoma City at 5 p.m. Friday before returning home for Senior Day, which will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday against Oklahoma Baptist. It will be USAO’s final regular season home game.
