CHICKASHA – Taking on a Top 10 team proved to be more than University of Science and Arts of the Oklahoma’s women’s soccer team could handle. The University of Texas-Brownsville went home with the win on Thursday afternoon.

The No. 9 Ocelots (2-1) came out strong in the first 45 minutes of the game, completely shutting down the USAO offense.

Immediately after halftime, USAO’s Jade Ovendale scored the Drovers’ first goal of the game in an unassisted play. It was Ovendale’s third goal of the season.

The Drovers (1-2) then notched a second goal just 10 minutes later as Ovendale found Linda Addo, who scored her second goal of the season.

Goalkeeper Addie Lee had 14 saves in the game.

The Drovers are scheduled to play at Friends University at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday before returning home to take on McPherson College. Kick off for that game is slated for noon on Sept. 14.
