CHICKASHA – For the first time in school history, the Drover women have advanced beyond the Sooner Athletic Conference Quarterfinals. They defeated Mid-America Christian in a much-needed overtime win.

“It was definitely very exciting. I think our team worked so hard this year, and we definitely deserve it,” said junior Erin Coggan. “I have to admit, I was so exhausted after that, and I was so excited she scored.”

Coggan has played in every game for the Drovers, who have now advanced all the way to the SAC Finals on Friday. The thing, she said, setting the team apart this year is the chemistry.

“I think off the field, the girls really get along better than we have before,” she said. “Girls being able to get along off the field really shows on the field. And everybody just really enjoys being around each other.”

While Coggan admits to getting nervous before games, post season on the line right now has only intensified the nerves.

“I get really nervous before games,” she said. “I just get really excited and nervous, but also because the team relies on you so much so it’s important not to let your team down.”
