CHICKASHA – Having known Coach Jimmy Hampton since she was eight, he was a big factor in Taylor Fain’s decision to attend USAO.

After high school, Fain went to the University of Tulsa and sat out a season with an ACL injury. During that time, Hampton kept in touch, asking her how she liked school and how her knee was doing.

“He was the one that kept in contact with me while I was at school,” she said. “I kind of want that out of a coach. I want somebody to care. That’s part of the reason I came.”

This is her second season playing for USAO, and when she’s not helping the Drover soccer team win games, Taylor Fain is spending her time writing a novel.

Her novel, Autumn’s Gold, is about a love triangle written from the perspective of three different characters.

“It offers a good challenge for me a writer,” Fain said. “It’s really fun. I enjoy it.”
