CHICKASHA– The final regular season whistle has gone off. The Drover women soccer team will clinch the sixth seed with a 3-0 victory over Northwood on Tuesday afternoon.

The Drovers (6-10, 5-5) came in to the day knowing they will be heading to postseason play were fighting for the sixth seed. With the win, the Drovers will be traveling on Saturday for the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament opener. The winner of the SAC Tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship Tournament.

The time and opponent will be announced on Wednesday after tournament pairings are released from the conference.

USAO grabbed a 1-0 lead off Linda Addo’s 11th goal of the season and the seventh assist from Jade Ovendale early in the first half.

The second goal of the day came from senior Lauren Carter, who scored her second goal of the season off an assist from Vanessa Yates, which also was her second assist of the year.

The third and final goal of the game came off a free kick from Ovendale, who scores her 18th of the season and puts her in a tie for fifth in the single-season goal USAO records book.

The Drovers netted their fourth shutout in the last five games and their fifth win in the last six games to close out the regular season.

Addie Lee improves her record to 4-7 and grabs her second shutout of the 2013 season.
