Welcome to the web site of the USAO Music Department. We invite you to browse our site and get to know about our programs and offerings.

The academic mission of the Music Department at USAO is to train capable, effective music educators and performers or prepare students for graduate studies in music.  The music department also offers courses and ensembles for the general student population in support of the liberal arts environment on campus. The Music Department engages in arts advocacy through its active performance calendar, performances for university and community events, and involvement with local school districts.

In addition to offering the Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and the Bachelor of Arts in Music degrees the Music Department offers courses for Artistic Expression in USAO's unique Interdisciplinary Studies core. The Music Department offers five ensembles for student participation, regardless of major: Concert Choir, Concert Band, USAO Showband, USAO Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and the USAO Key Players.
