Chocolate Tasting Event Saturday
Chocolate lovers, brace yourselves. More than 60 different recipes featuring chocolate as the primary ingredient will be offered at a special tasting event that features live jazz and cash prizes this Saturday night at the University of Science and Arts.
The event is the brainchild of the USAO Staff Association and will benefit a scholarship fund administered by the USAO Foundation.
Hot Chocolate-Cool Jazz is scheduled from 7-9 p.m. Aug. 14 in the USAO Ballroom.
“We invite indulgence,” said organizer Candice Hillenbrand, a member of the USAO Staff Association. “Our idea is to have a lot of fun, raise money for scholarships, and enjoy some delightful baked goods. We invite everyone out to sample dozens of desserts submitted in our chocolate bake-off. All recipes will be judged prior to the event and the Grand Prize winner will receive a cash prize of $350. There will also be prize packages given to each of the five categories winners.”
In addition to the bake-off and chocolate tasting, all recipes submitted will be included in the Hot Chocolate- Cool Jazz Sweet Sounds of Cooking cookbook. All cookbooks will be sold at the door the night of the event and will available throughout the year at USAO.
Tickets are available for $10 each at the Chickasha Chamber of Commerce or at the information booth in Troutt Hall at USAO. Tickets for students and children will be available for $5 at the door.
“It is our hope that we can make Hot Chocolate-Cool Jazz an annual community wide family oriented event,” said Laura Harrison, president of the Staff Association. “With a refreshing blend of smooth jazz and sweet confections, we look forward to a relaxing and enjoyable evening with you.”
