Emerson-Wier Liberal Arts Symposium

Inspired by endowment funds created by Oklahoma College for Women alumni Gladys Anderson Emerson and Nance Foules Wier, each spring the symposium brings in renowned speakers from a wide range of fields relating to the traditional liberal arts disciplines.

Oklahoma Civil War Symposium

Beginning in 2012 to honor the 150-year anniversary of the Civil War, USAO's summer history symposium brings in leading scholars who provide an in-depth examination of this earth-shattering part of the American story and discuss how the lessons from this conflict reverbate in contemporary society.

Ableson Religious Reconciliation Lecture

Named for Bradford Edward Ableson—USAO Alumni Hall of Fame member, U.S. Navy Captain, visionary in religious reconciliation and an architect of modern military chaplaincy—this  series features religious and cultural leaders who have contributed to communication across communities.

Ray, Mary & Nita Giles Symposium for Citizenship and Public Service

Honoring the Giles family's legacy of service to family, education and public service in Oklahoma, this symposium brings in entrepreneurs, activists, authors and others who have distinguished themselves through work that exemplifies the importance of an engaged, informed and interconnected populace.
