The University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma received nearly $112,000, exceeding this year’s goal of $100,000 during Green Day, the institution’s eighth annual day of giving.

This year’s campaign sought funding to provide support for a variety of educational programs and initiatives across campus that will educate and elevate the next generation of innovative leaders.

“We sincerely and deeply appreciate everyone who was involved in Green Day 2024,” said JP Audas, senior vice president for external relations. "It was inspiring to see the participation of so many familiar faces, as well as new friends of the university."

Scholarships received the largest support throughout the day. Dr. Nancy and George Hector provided a generous gift, to their named scholarship which offers support to Chickasha high school graduates enrolled full-time at USAO. Through Delta Airlines’ employee match program, the Hector’s were able to double their impact, providing more financial resources for the students of Chickasha to further their education after high school.

The USAO Staff Association also succeeded in reaching their goal for their scholarship through the gifts of more than 20 staff members, along with a $500 matching gift from Monica Trevino, grant coordinator. The fund provides scholarships to current USAO personnel and their immediate family members.

In addition to scholarships and financial aid for students, funds raised during Green Day provide support for faculty development and research opportunities, campus infrastructure improvements, student organizations, extracurricular activities, athletics, and innovative teaching methods and technology.
