Student Spotlight: Trinity Albao-Cozad

As a driven biology major and a dedicated student-athlete, Trinity Albao-Cozad is making her mark at the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma. Expected to graduate in Spring 2025, Albao-Cozad balances her rigorous academic pursuits of pre-dental with her passion for cross country and track and field.
Albao-Cozad first heard about USAO through her high school counselor, who highlighted the university's affordability and strong liberal arts program. Drawn by the proximity to her hometown, the opportunity to stay connected with family, and the chance to attend college with childhood friends, Albao-Cozad found USAO to be the perfect fit.
"I chose biology because of my fascination with living organisms and my desire to enter the dental field," she said. "USAO's pre-dentistry program offers the exact coursework and preparation I need to achieve my goal of becoming a dentist."
Her studies involve a mix of classroom learning, lab experiments and research, covering essential topics like cell biology, genetics and chemistry. Albao-Cozad also minors in business to complement her future aspirations of opening her own dental clinic.
In addition to her academic achievements, Albao-Cozad has embraced campus life through active involvement in DroverThon and the Student Government Association. As treasurer of SGA, she helps manage financial procedures and represents student interests, while her role in DroverThon has allowed her to develop leadership skills through organizing fundraising events.
Reflecting on her growth since enrolling at USAO, Albao-Cozad said, "I've gained confidence, perseverance and time-management skills. Participating in campus activities and leadership roles has pushed me out of my comfort zone and enhanced my communication and interpersonal skills."
One of her proudest accomplishments is her role in organizing DroverThon events, where she has made a positive impact on the community while honing her event planning and leadership abilities.
Albao-Cozad credits her success at USAO to the mentorship of her advisor and chemistry professor, Dr. Boyde, as well as other STEM faculty members. Their guidance has been invaluable in helping her navigate her academic journey and prepare for her future career.
For prospective students considering USAO, Albao-Cozad highly recommends the university for its supportive community, strong academic programs and personalized learning experiences that foster meaningful connections with professors.
"Attending USAO with my childhood best friends and building strong relationships with my professors and classmates has made my college experience uniquely mine," she said. "These connections and experiences have been truly enriching and special."
As she continues her journey at USAO, Albao-Cozad remains focused on her goal of becoming a dentist and making a lasting impact in her field.
